Demeatraus Minter (Demi Minter) holds a Masters degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University, where she graduated with Honors.  She attended Howard University working towards her Masters degree in School of Social Work for a year and Bowie State University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology on the Dean’s list.   

She specializes in Co-Occurring disorders (Mental Health and Substance Abuse).  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).  She’s also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). 

 

She has over 25 years of experience in the field of Mental Health and 10 years of experience in Addictions treatment.  She currently works as a Behavioral Health Therapist for the Community Health Network.  Formerly she was the Administrator of the Detox clinic with the Center for Health Care services for 41/2 years in San Antonio, Texas.  She worked with Green Door Mental Health agency for 16 years working her way up from a Housing Counselor to the Director of Co-Occurring Disorders Day program in Washington D.C., her hometown.  She also worked for the Next Step program as an Addiction Counselor serving Bureau of Prisons and DC Pretrial clients for 2 years.
