Community Health Network Learns Psychological

First Aid Training

Posted on April 11, 2019

Community Health Network (CHN) partnered with Americares to provide Community Health Network employees with Psychological First Aid training. The training was given at CHN’s Pearland Family Health Center, 2552 East Broadway St. Suite 102 Pearland, TX 77581 on March 15, 2019.

CHN staff participated in an interactive and informative training to assist patients in need of psychological aid by learning how to respond to crisis events. Everyone that attended left with enough knowledge to act and support patients during or after a traumatic event.

Americares partnered with Community Health Network, a federally qualified health center in Texas for the unique training. A federally qualified health center (FQHC) is a health center that serves an underserved area or population, offers a sliding fee scale, provides comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services, and qualifies for funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (PHS). CHN is an FQHC serving Brazoria and Galveston Counties.
